Shipping
Caffe Veloce equipment is fulfilled through Omcan’s extensive Canadian infrastructure. Because these machines contain sensitive boilers, copper piping, and precision grinders, they are handled as high-priority, fragile freight.
- Primary Hub: All Canadian orders are typically processed and dispatched from the main 250,000 sq. ft. distribution center in Mississauga.
- Lead Times: Standard in-stock espresso machines and grinders are generally processed within 1 to 3 business days. Transit times vary by province but typically range from 2 to 5 business days for major metropolitan areas.
- Logistics: To protect internal components and stainless steel finishes, espresso machines are professionally crated and secured to skids for LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) freight. Smaller grinders may ship via parcel carriers with reinforced double-boxing.
- Inspection Requirement: Upon arrival, you must inspect the crate for external damage and open it immediately to check for concealed damage. Any issues must be noted on the carrier's bill of lading. Omcan requires notification within 24 hours of delivery to initiate a freight claim, as shipping damage is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
Warranty
Caffe Veloce equipment is backed by Omcan’s standard commercial warranty, designed for high-volume foodservice environments.
- Standard Coverage: New espresso machines and grinders typically carry a 1-year limited parts and labour warranty from the date of original purchase.
- On-Site Service: For commercial installations, the warranty includes on-site labour during regular weekday hours, provided the location is within 160 km (100 miles) of an authorized service center.
- Remote Locations: Users in remote geographic areas may be limited to a parts-only warranty, where the cost of travel and mileage for a technician becomes the owner's responsibility.
- Residential Exclusion: There is no on-site warranty for equipment installed at residential addresses; such units must typically be brought to an authorized service center for repair.
Service & Support
Technical support for Caffe Veloce is centralized through Omcan’s dedicated service department, focusing on the precision calibration required for professional espresso extraction.
- Authorized Technicians: Repairs must be performed by Omcan-authorized technicians using genuine OEM spare parts to maintain the validity of the warranty.
- Parts Availability: A comprehensive inventory of replacement parts—including portafilters, group head gaskets, heating elements, and grinder burrs—is maintained in Mississauga to minimize downtime for Canadian cafes.
- Technical Consultations: Support is available to assist with initial setup, including advice on the specific electrical and plumbing requirements (such as dedicated circuits and direct-water connections) for multi-group machines.
Exceptions and Exclusions
To keep the warranty in effect, the equipment must be operated and maintained according to professional barista and manufacturer standards.
- Water Quality: Damage caused by poor water quality or scale buildup is the leading cause of warranty denial. The use of a professional-grade water softener or filtration system is mandatory for boiler-based machines.
- Maintenance Neglect: Failures resulting from a failure to perform daily backflushing, group head cleaning, or routine de-scaling are considered maintenance issues rather than manufacturing defects.
- Wear and Tear: Components subject to natural wear—such as group gaskets, shower screens, and grinder burrs—are considered consumables and are not covered under the primary warranty.
- Improper Utilities: Issues caused by electrical power fluctuations, incorrect voltage, or improper drainage and plumbing connections are explicitly excluded.
- Unauthorized Repairs: Any tampering, field modifications, or repairs performed by non-qualified technicians or using non-OEM parts will automatically void the remaining warranty.
