Shipping
- Fulfillment Hubs: Kool-It equipment is dispatched for the Canadian market through a regional warehouse strategy. The primary inventory is held at their facility in Montreal, with significant stock maintained in Mississauga and Calgary to service Central and Western Canada.
- Lead Times: Standard in-stock refrigeration units and ice machines are typically processed and dispatched within 1 to 3 business days. For specialized units or large-scale project orders not currently in domestic stock, lead times for factory replenishment generally range from 6 to 10 weeks.
- Logistics and Packaging: Because refrigeration units contain sensitive compressors, precision digital controllers, and tempered glass, all equipment is professionally crated and secured to reinforced skids for LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) freight.
Warranty
- Standard Coverage: Most new Kool-It commercial refrigeration units (reach-ins, prep tables, and undercounters) carry a 2-year limited parts and labour warranty from the date of original purchase.
- Compressor Protection: The sealed refrigeration system includes an additional 3-year warranty on the compressor part, providing a total of 5 years of coverage for the unit's most critical mechanical component.
- Ice Machine Terms: Kool-It ice machines typically carry a 3-year parts and labour warranty, with 5 years of coverage on the compressor and evaporator.
- Value Series (K-Series): Specific merchandisers and entry-level units may carry a 1-year parts and labour warranty with a 5-year compressor warranty; always verify the specific model series at the time of purchase.
- Service Authorization: All warranty work in Canada must be pre-authorized by the MVP Group service department in Montreal and performed by a factory-authorized service provider.
Service & Support
- Authorized Technicians: Repairs and warranty work are performed by a national network of factory-authorized service providers who are specifically trained in Kool-It’s digital temperature control systems and R-290 hydrocarbon refrigerant protocols.
- Parts Availability: A comprehensive inventory of genuine OEM replacement parts—including fan motors, thermostats, door gaskets, and control boards—is maintained at the Montreal, Mississauga, and Calgary hubs to ensure rapid turnarounds for Canadian operators.
- Technical Consultations: Support is available to assist facility managers with ensuring proper installation clearances and ventilation requirements, which are critical for maintaining the efficiency of bottom-mount and top-mount cooling systems.
Exceptions and Exclusions
- Maintenance Requirements: Failure to clean the condenser coils every 30 to 60 days is the primary cause of compressor failure and is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
- Ventilation Clearance: Most units require a minimum of 3 to 6 inches of clearance on the sides and back for proper airflow. Obstructing this ventilation can lead to overheating and will void the performance guarantee.
- Improper Utilities: Failures caused by incorrect electrical voltage, a lack of proper grounding, or the use of extension cords are explicitly excluded.
- Environmental Factors: Operating refrigeration equipment in ambient temperatures exceeding 100°F (38°C) or in non-climate-controlled environments is not covered.
- Wearable Items: Consumables such as light bulbs, door gaskets, and shelf clips are classified as maintenance items and are generally limited to a 90-day warranty period for manufacturing defects only.
- Non-Commercial Use: The warranty is void if the equipment is installed in a residential or non-commercial application.
- Freight Damage: Any damage sustained during transportation is a freight matter. Visible damage must be reported to the carrier at the time of delivery to facilitate a claim with the logistics provider.
