Shipping
All Habco products ship FREE from their primary manufacturing facility in North York (Toronto), Ontario. As a proudly Canadian manufacturer, Habco specializes in high-efficiency commercial refrigeration, including glass door merchandisers, air-curtain refrigerators, and specialized pharmacy coolers. Because these units are built with large glass panels and the heavy-duty Cassette refrigeration system, they are shipped via specialized freight carriers. Every shipment is professionally palletized and insured to protect against vibration or structural damage during transit. Standard shipping includes liftgate delivery across Canada to ensure the unit is safely offloaded at your facility or retail location.
Warranty
Standard 3-Year Parts and Labour
Habco offers one of the most comprehensive standard warranties in the refrigeration industry. Most models are backed by a 3-year parts and labour warranty from the original date of purchase. This coverage ensures that all mechanical and electronic components—including the digital controller, LED lighting, and fan motors—are free from manufacturing defects. This warranty provides high-volume operators with significant protection against repair costs during the critical first three years of operation.
5-Year Compressor Protection
Reflecting the durability of their refrigeration systems, Habco units include an extended 5-year warranty on the compressor. This includes the initial 3 years of parts and labour coverage, followed by an additional 2 years of parts-only coverage for the compressor itself. This long-term protection is a hallmark of Habco’s commitment to providing a low lifetime cost of ownership.
The Cassette Refrigeration System
A unique feature of Habco equipment is the patented Cassette refrigeration system. This self-contained "plug-and-play" module can be completely removed and replaced in minutes without the need for specialized tools or removing the refrigerator's contents.
- Simplified Service: If a critical failure occurs, a replacement Cassette can be shipped to the site and swapped by maintenance staff, drastically reducing downtime and the need for expensive on-site technician hours.
- Warranty Flexibility: In many cases, warranty service for the Cassette can be handled by shipping a refurbished unit to the customer, ensuring the business continues to operate while the original unit is repaired.
Service & Support
Warranty and technical service are managed through Habco’s dedicated support network and authorized service providers across North America. Because of the Cassette design, many technical issues can be diagnosed and resolved through their technical support line. To initiate a claim or request assistance, users must provide the model number and serial number, typically found on the interior wall of the unit. Using authorized technicians for any on-site work is mandatory to maintain the validity of the 3-year warranty and the 5-year compressor coverage.
Exceptions & Exclusions
Warranty coverage is strictly contingent upon proper maintenance and environment. For units with air-cooled condensers, the coils must be kept clean to ensure proper airflow; failure to maintain a clean condenser is a primary cause of compressor failure and is not covered under warranty. Coverage excludes consumable items such as air filters and light bulbs (if applicable) and does not cover damage resulting from improper electrical supply or "dry-firing" the unit. Standard warranties apply to commercial and institutional installations only; using a Habco unit in a residential setting or making unauthorized modifications will void the manufacturer’s warranty. Freight damage must be documented on the bill of lading at the time of delivery to be eligible for a replacement claim.
