Shipping
All Kelvinator Commercial products ship free from the primary distribution hub in Mississauga, Ontario. As a staple brand in the Celco Inc. portfolio, Kelvinator is recognized for its dependable reach-in refrigerators, freezers, and specialized chest freezers. Because these units contain pressurized refrigeration systems and heavy-duty compressors, they are shipped via specialized freight carriers. Every shipment is professionally palletized and fully insured to protect the integrity of the cooling system and the exterior finish during transit. Liftgate delivery is standard for freight shipments across Canada to ensure the unit is safely offloaded at your facility.
Warranty
Kelvinator Commercial offers a straightforward and robust warranty program designed to meet the needs of professional foodservice operators.
Standard Protection
- 3-Year Parts and Labour Warranty on the entire unit from the original date of purchase. This covers the thermostat, fan motors, and all mechanical components against manufacturing defects.
- 5-Year Compressor Warranty (parts only), providing an additional two years of coverage for the compressor after the initial full warranty period expires.
Chest Freezer Coverage
For Kelvinator Commercial chest freezers (often used for ice cream or bulk storage), the warranty remains consistent with the standard 3-year parts and labour and 5-year compressor parts protection. This level of coverage is particularly competitive for chest-style units, which are often subject to heavy use in retail environments.
Service & Support
Warranty and technical service are managed through Celco’s extensive national service network, coordinated directly from their Mississauga headquarters. Kelvinator units are designed for durability and ease of maintenance, but should a failure occur, Celco provides responsive technical support and dispatches factory-authorized technicians for on-site repairs. To initiate a claim, please have your model number and serial number ready, typically found on the interior wall or the rear of the unit. Using authorized technicians and genuine Kelvinator OEM parts is mandatory to maintain the validity of your manufacturer’s warranty.
Exceptions & Exclusions
Warranty coverage is strictly contingent upon proper installation and routine preventative maintenance. Specific exclusions include:
- Maintenance Neglect: Damage resulting from failure to clean condenser coils, blocked airflow, or improper defrosting is not covered. Proper airflow is essential for the longevity of the compressor.
- Consumable & Wear Items: Light bulbs, plastic shelves, and door gaskets are typically excluded from the long-term warranty coverage.
- Environmental Factors: Damage caused by improper electrical supply, use of non-grounded outlets, or installation in outdoor/non-commercial settings is not covered.
- Operational Misuse: Using the equipment for purposes other than its intended commercial use or making unauthorized modifications will void the warranty.
- Documentation: Freight damage is not a warranty issue and must be clearly noted on the bill of lading at the time of delivery to be eligible for a replacement or repair claim.
