Rheninghaus SST14-Q 14" Blade Manual Gravity Feed Food Slicer
Rheninghaus SST14-Q Manual Gravity Feed Slicer
The Rheninghaus SST14-Q is a premium, heavy-duty manual slicer designed in Italy for precision, performance, and lasting value. Its robust, anodized aluminum construction makes it both sturdy and lightweight, while special protections make it suitable for humid environments. This makes it the ideal choice for demanding commercial kitchens, including deli shops, supermarkets, restaurants, and catering companies. Featuring a powerful yet quiet gear-driven motor and a high-quality hardened chromium steel alloy blade, the SST14-Q ensures smooth, consistent slicing of even the heaviest products. The 30° carriage angle provides excellent visibility and ergonomics, while the built-in, removable sharpener keeps the blade in peak condition. Cleaning is simplified with features like a removable last slice device, large clearances, and a gasket-sealed thickness adjustment mechanism.
Key Features:
- Heavy-Duty Blade: 14-inch high-quality hardened chromium steel alloy hollow ground knife.
- Adjustable Thickness: Precisely adjust slice thickness from 0 to 9/16 inches with a gasket-sealed mechanism.
- Powerful Motor: Equipped with a 1/2 HP fan-cooled, continuous-use motor that is both powerful and noiseless.

Shipping
Rheninghaus slicers are precision-engineered instruments. Because they feature heavy-duty induction motors and precision-aligned blades, they are handled as high-density, fragile cargo.
- Fulfillment Hubs: Primary inventory for the most popular models, such as the Start, Prima, and Beta series, is staged in Boucherville and Mississauga. This allows for rapid fulfillment to the Ontario and Quebec markets.
- Lead Times: In-stock countertop slicers are typically processed and dispatched within 1 to 3 business days. For specialized automatic slicers or large-scale industrial units imported from the Italian factory, lead times generally range from 8 to 12 weeks.
- Logistics: To protect the precision blade alignment and the anodized aluminum finish, all slicers are professionally crated or double-boxed and secured to reinforced skids for LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) freight.
- Inspection Requirement: A meticulous visual inspection is mandatory upon delivery. Any transit-related damage—specifically to the blade guard, the sharpening assembly, or the carriage—must be documented on the carrier's bill of lading to preserve freight claim rights.
Warranty
In Canada, the warranty for Rheninghaus equipment is administered through Eurodib and focuses on the mechanical longevity of the Italian-made components.
- Standard Coverage: New Rheninghaus professional slicers carry a 1-year limited parts and labour warranty from the original date of purchase.
- Mechanical Integrity: The warranty covers the induction motor, gear-driven or belt-driven transmission, and electronic switches against defects in materials and workmanship under normal commercial usage.
- Carry-In Service: Like most tabletop food preparation equipment, Rheninghaus slicers are generally designated as carry-in service. The owner is responsible for transporting the unit to an authorized service center in Mississauga, Montreal, or a regional partner.
- Service Authorization: To maintain validity, all warranty repairs must be pre-authorized by Eurodib’s service department and performed by a factory-certified technician.
Service & Support
Technical support for Rheninghaus in Canada is centralized through Eurodib to ensure that deli and butchery operations maintain the highest slicing precision.
- Authorized Technicians: Repairs are performed by a national network of factory-trained technicians who are specifically trained in Rheninghaus’s specialized gear-driven systems and safety interlocks.
- Parts Availability: A comprehensive inventory of genuine Italian OEM parts—including blades, sharpening stones, motor belts, and carriage knobs—is maintained at the Mississauga hub and through Parts Town Canada.
- Technical Consultations: Support is available to assist operators with the correct blade selection (e.g., Cera-Dura coatings for cheese or Long-Life blades for heavy meat) and the proper calibration of the sharpening assembly.
Exceptions and Exclusions
To maintain the validity of the warranty, the slicer must be operated and maintained according to professional hygiene and mechanical standards.
- Wearable Components: The warranty does not cover parts that naturally wear through use, such as slicing blades, sharpening stones, and drive belts.
- Cleaning and Oxidation: Using abrasive cleaners or caustic chemicals that damage the anodized aluminum finish is explicitly excluded. Damage to electronic components caused by submerging the unit or using a high-pressure hose during cleaning will void the warranty.
- Improper Utilities: Failures caused by power surges, incorrect voltage, or the use of extension cords (which can cause motor overheating) are explicitly excluded.
- Misuse and Overloading: Using the machine for applications beyond its rated capacity—such as slicing frozen meat on a non-frozen-rated machine—will void the warranty.
- Maintenance Neglect: Failure to properly lubricate the slide rods or clean the blade housing, resulting in mechanical seizure, is considered operator error and is not covered.
- Freight Damage: Any damage sustained during transportation is a freight matter. Visible damage must be reported to the carrier at the time of delivery to facilitate a claim with the logistics provider.
