Shipping
Gel Matic soft serve and gelato machines ship from primary distribution hubs in Canada, notably in the Mississauga and Vaughan regions of Ontario. As high-precision Italian-engineered equipment, Gel Matic units are high-mass machines containing sensitive refrigeration systems, electronic controllers (In.Co.Di.S. technology), and precision pumps. They are shipped via specialized freight carriers on heavy-duty skids to ensure the structural integrity and internal cooling circuits remain in factory calibration. Every unit is professionally crated and fully insured to ensure the equipment arrives in peak operational condition.
Warranty
Gel Matic provides a manufacturer warranty designed to protect their advanced express freezing technology in high-volume environments.
- Standard Protection: Most Gel Matic models, including both countertop and floor-standing units, are covered by a 1-year parts warranty.
- Labour Coverage: Labour for warranty repairs is typically covered for the first 90 days from the date of installation.
- Major Component Protection: The heart of the machine is heavily protected, with the refrigeration compressor often carrying an extended 5-year parts-only warranty.
- Technical Support (GCARE): Gel Matic’s GCARE system provides dedicated support for technical inquiries and warranty tracking to ensure rapid resolution of any equipment issues.
To validate the warranty, the equipment should be registered with the authorized Canadian representative within 30 days of installation. All units must be installed by a licensed refrigeration technician or electrician to maintain active coverage.
Service & Support
Technical service and warranty repairs are managed through a network of factory-authorized service providers across Canada. Because Gel Matic machines utilize sophisticated airflow designs and precise temperature sensors, all warranty repairs must be performed by authorized technicians. Canadian distribution hubs maintain an inventory of genuine Gel Matic OEM parts to ensure rapid response times and minimize downtime during peak dessert seasons. Using non-OEM parts or unauthorized service agents will void the manufacturer’s warranty.
Exceptions & Exclusions
Warranty coverage is strictly contingent upon the equipment being operated and maintained according to the provided manuals. Specific exclusions include:
- Maintenance Responsibilities: Routine cleaning and sanitizing of the mix hoppers, freezing cylinders, and condenser coils are the responsibility of the owner. Failure to clean condenser coils is a primary cause of compressor failure and is not covered.
- Wearable Items: Consumable parts such as scraper blades, O-rings, gaskets, and seals are considered wear items and are not covered under the primary parts warranty.
- Operational Misuse: Damage caused by "dry-running" the machine without mix, using incorrect electrical voltage, or installing the unit with insufficient ventilation for the refrigeration system is excluded.
- Water Quality: For water-cooled models, damage caused by scale or lime buildup due to poor water quality is not covered.
- Documentation: Freight damage is not a warranty issue; any visible damage to the crate or unit must be clearly noted on the bill of lading at the time of delivery to be eligible for a claim.
