Shipping
Follett ice and water dispensers, ice machines, and medical-grade refrigeration units ship directly from their primary manufacturing facilities in Easton, Pennsylvania. As precision-engineered machines that involve sensitive refrigeration circuits, high-torque gear motors, and sophisticated filtration systems, these units are high-mass appliances that require specialized handling for international transit. For Canadian customers, equipment is transported via specialized freight carriers on heavy-duty skids to ensure the structural integrity of the stainless steel chassis and internal components. Every shipment is professionally crated and fully insured from the Pennsylvania factory to the final Canadian destination to ensure the equipment arrives in factory-perfect condition.
Warranty
Follett provides a robust manufacturer warranty designed to support their equipment in high-demand environments, including healthcare, foodservice, and institutional settings.
- Ice & Water Dispensers (Symphony Plus): These units are typically covered by a 3-year parts and labour warranty on the entire machine.
- Ice Machines (Maestro Plus): Standard protection includes a 3-year parts and labour warranty on the entire machine, with the compressor protected by an extended 5-year parts-only warranty.
- Refrigeration (Horizon Elite/Medical Grade): Medical-grade units often feature a 2-year parts and labour warranty, with the compressor covered by a 5-year parts-only warranty.
- Replacement Parts: Genuine Follett replacement parts carry a 90-day warranty or the remainder of the original equipment warranty, whichever is longer.
To validate the warranty, the equipment should be registered through the Follett online portal within 30 days of installation. All units must be installed by a licensed professional to ensure proper water, drain, and electrical connections.
Service & Support
Technical service and warranty repairs are managed through a national network of factory-authorized service providers across Canada. Because Follett equipment utilizes specialized nugget ice technology and advanced sanitary designs, all warranty-related service must be performed by authorized technicians. Canadian distribution hubs and authorized service partners maintain an inventory of genuine Follett OEM parts, including gear motors, evaporators, and control boards, to ensure rapid response times and minimize downtime. Using non-genuine parts or unauthorized service agents will void the manufacturer’s warranty.
Exceptions & Exclusions
Warranty coverage is strictly contingent upon the equipment being operated and maintained according to the provided manuals. Specific exclusions include:
- Water Quality & Scale: Damage caused by lime, scale, or mineral buildup due to poor water quality is a primary exclusion. The use of manufacturer-approved water filtration systems is required to maintain the longevity of the evaporator and valves.
- Cleaning & Sanitization: Routine cleaning and periodic sanitization of the ice bin and water lines are the responsibility of the owner. Damage resulting from a failure to follow the prescribed cleaning cycles is not covered.
- Wearable Items: Consumable parts such as water filters, air filters, and O-rings are considered wear items and are not covered under the primary parts and labour warranty.
- Operational Misuse: Damage caused by improper electrical supply (voltage fluctuations), restricted airflow to the condenser, or installing the unit in an unconditioned environment is excluded.
- Documentation: Freight damage is not a warranty issue; any visible damage to the crate or unit must be clearly noted on the bill of lading at the time of delivery to be eligible for a claim.
