Shipping
Because Minus Forty products are manufactured domestically in Ontario, they offer a significant logistical advantage for Canadian operators compared to imported brands.
- Fulfillment Origin: All units are dispatched from their primary manufacturing and distribution complex in the Greater Toronto Area.
- Lead Times: Popular "in-stock" models are typically processed and dispatched within a few business days. For custom-branded units or large-volume retail rollouts, lead times are generally more stable and shorter than overseas competitors due to the lack of international port delays.
- Logistics: Equipment is shipped upright, blanket-wrapped, or crated on reinforced skids via professional LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) carriers.
Warranty
Minus Forty’s warranty is designed to support the long-term lifecycle of high-traffic retail assets.
- Standard Coverage: Most new commercial units carry a 1-year limited parts and labour warranty from the date of original installation.
- Compressor Protection: The sealed refrigeration system is backed by an additional 4-year warranty on the compressor part, providing a total of 5 years of coverage for the unit's most critical mechanical component.
- Modular Serviceability: A key feature of their warranty and service philosophy is the patented slide-out "Cooling Deck." This allows the entire refrigeration system to be serviced or replaced without having to remove the cabinet from the sales floor, significantly reducing labour costs and downtime.
- Authorization: All warranty claims must be pre-authorized by the manufacturer and performed by a factory-certified technician.
Service & Support
- Authorized Technicians: Technical support is facilitated through an extensive national network of factory-authorized service providers across Canada, including major service hubs in Mississauga, Calgary, and Vancouver.
- Parts Availability: A comprehensive inventory of genuine OEM replacement parts—including fan assemblies, digital controllers, and magnetic gaskets—is maintained at the Ontario headquarters and through regional parts distributors to ensure rapid turnaround.
- SmartConnect™ Diagnostics: Many premium models feature integrated IoT monitoring, allowing technical support to perform remote diagnostics and identify potential issues like dirty condensers or power fluctuations before a technician is even dispatched.
Exceptions and Exclusions
- Condenser Maintenance: Failure to clean the condenser coil regularly (typically every 30 to 90 days) is the leading cause of compressor failure and is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
- Ventilation Requirements: Proper airflow is critical. The warranty is void if the unit is installed without the required 6 inches of clearance on all sides or if it is operated in an ambient environment exceeding 90°F (32°C).
- Electrical Utilities: Damage resulting from incorrect voltage, power surges, or the use of extension cords and power strips is explicitly excluded. A dedicated 15A or 20A circuit is required depending on the model.
- Residential Use: Like most industrial equipment, the warranty is strictly for commercial applications; installation in a residential or non-commercial setting will nullify all coverage.
- Consequential Loss: The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for food spoilage, economic loss, or consequential damages resulting from equipment failure.
- Freight Damage: Any damage sustained during transportation is a freight matter. Visible damage must be reported to the carrier at the time of delivery to facilitate a claim with the logistics provider.
