Shipping
Taylor products, including their industry-standard soft serve and frozen dessert machines, ship free to most commercial locations across Canada from the primary distributor out of Bolton, Ontario. As high-precision refrigeration units containing heavy-duty compressors, motors, and stainless steel freezing cylinders, Taylor machines are high-mass and require careful handling. They are shipped via specialized freight carriers to ensure the delicate internal electronics and refrigeration systems remain in factory calibration. Each unit is professionally palletized and fully insured from the Bolton hub to its final destination.
Warranty
Taylor provides a tiered manufacturer warranty that offers long-term protection for the most critical components of their frozen dessert equipment.
Standard Protection
- 1-Year Parts and Labour Warranty: This covers the entire unit for 12 months from the date of original installation against manufacturing defects.
- 2-Year Parts Warranty: This provides additional coverage for the motors and gearboxes for a full 24 months.
- 5-Year Parts Warranty: The most vital components, including the refrigeration compressor and the insulated shell assembly (the freezing cylinder), are protected against defects for five years.
To validate this warranty, the equipment must be installed by a certified technician and registered within 30 days of installation. Proper initial start-up documentation is mandatory to ensure the multi-tiered coverage remains active.
Service & Support
Warranty and technical service are managed through a national network of factory-trained technicians. Because Taylor machines—especially self-pasteurizing models—feature complex heating and cooling cycles, all warranty repairs must be performed by authorized service agents. The Bolton-based distribution center maintains a massive inventory of genuine Taylor OEM parts to support rapid service. Using unauthorized technicians or non-OEM parts will immediately void the manufacturer's warranty.
Exceptions & Exclusions
Warranty coverage is strictly contingent upon the equipment being operated and maintained according to the provided manuals. Specific exclusions include:
- Maintenance & Cleaning: Damage resulting from a failure to perform daily cleaning and sanitization (or the required 28-day cycle for heat-treatment models) is not covered. Neglecting the "Brush Butler" or routine tune-up kits can lead to mechanical failure.
- Wearable Items: Consumable parts such as scraper blades, O-rings, gaskets, and seals (often referred to as "tune-up kit" items) are considered wear parts and are not covered under the warranty.
- Water Quality & Airflow: Issues caused by scale buildup due to poor water quality or compressor failure due to restricted airflow (blocked filters or insufficient clearance) are excluded.
- Operational Misuse: Damage caused by "freeze-ups" due to improper mix ratios or unauthorized modifications to the control settings will void the warranty.
- Documentation: Freight damage is not a warranty issue; any damage to the unit must be clearly noted on the bill of lading at the time of delivery to be eligible for a claim.
