While common accessories or smaller components may ship from the closest regional distribution center—either Vancouver, British Columbia, or Toronto, Ontario—the ovens themselves typically ship directly from the primary manufacturing facility in Beltsville, Maryland. Because these units are exceptionally heavy masonry structures, they require specialized flatbed or dedicated freight transport. Every oven is meticulously crated in a heavy-duty wooden frame to ensure the structural integrity of the refractory brick and the custom external finish during international transit.
As these are high-mass appliances, they are transported via professional freight carriers. Customers are required to have the appropriate offloading equipment, such as a high-capacity forklift or crane, ready at the delivery site. To ensure factory-perfect arrival, all units must be inspected immediately upon delivery, and any visible damage to the crating must be documented on the bill of lading before the driver departs.
Warranty
Marra Forni provides a manufacturer warranty designed to support the longevity of their handcrafted ovens and specialized food preparation equipment in high-demand commercial environments.
- Commercial Brick Ovens: Most commercial ovens are covered by a 2-year parts and 1-year labour warranty against manufacturing defects from the date of installation.
- Refrigeration and Prep Tables: These units typically carry a 1-year parts and labour warranty, with an extended 5-year parts-only warranty on the compressor.
- Mixers and Slicers: Standard protection includes a 1-year parts and labour warranty covering mechanical and electrical components.
- Replacement Parts: Genuine Marra Forni replacement parts carry a 90-day warranty or the remainder of the original equipment warranty, whichever is longer.
The warranty period begins on the date of installation, provided that the installation occurs within six months of the original ship date. To validate coverage, all equipment must be installed by a licensed professional in accordance with local building codes and Marra Forni technical specifications.
Service & Support
Technical support and warranty repairs are coordinated through a national network of factory-authorized service providers across Canada. Due to the specialized nature of high-heat refractory materials and precision gas burner systems, all warranty-related service must be performed by authorized technicians to maintain the safety and integrity of the unit. Regional hubs in Vancouver, British Columbia, and Toronto, Ontario, maintain a stock of genuine OEM components, including burners, control boards, and thermal sensors, to facilitate rapid response times. For special order ovens, Marra Forni also offers remote diagnostic support to assist local technicians in troubleshooting performance issues. The use of non-genuine parts or unauthorized service agents will void the manufacturer's warranty.
Exceptions and Exclusions
Warranty coverage is strictly contingent upon the equipment being installed, cured, and operated according to the provided manuals. Specific exclusions include:
- Improper Curing: Damage caused by failing to follow the mandatory seven-day curing process is not covered. Subjecting the refractory material to high temperatures before it is fully dried will cause structural damage that is excluded from the warranty.
- Natural Stress Cracks: Hairline cracks in the refractory material are a natural result of thermal expansion and contraction and do not constitute a manufacturing defect unless they compromise the structural integrity of the oven.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Damage resulting from the use of chemical cleaners on the cooking surface or the accumulation of debris in the burner assembly is not covered. Routine maintenance, such as clearing the flue and inspecting gas connections, is the responsibility of the owner.
- Environmental Factors: The warranty is void if an indoor unit is installed in an outdoor or unconditioned environment, or if the unit is connected to an improper venting system that causes excessive heat back-up.
- Freight Damage: Structural or cosmetic damage sustained during transportation is not a warranty issue. Any damage must be clearly noted on the shipping documents at the time of delivery to allow for a successful insurance claim against the carrier.
